Antenatal Classes

Our antenatal classes are designed to help expectant parents feel prepared, informed, and confident as they approach birth and early parenting. Delivered in a supportive and welcoming environment, these sessions cover topics such as labour and birth, newborn care, feeding, adjusting to life with a baby, and the transition into parenthood. The classes also provide an opportunity to meet other local parents who are at a similar stage of their journey, helping to build connection and community before baby arrives.

Baby & You Classes

Mother Breastfeeding Baby

Baby & You is a relaxed, supportive course for parents and their young babies, focusing on the early weeks of parenting. The programme explores topics such as baby development, wellbeing, safety, pelvic floor recovery, baby wearing, first aid, and reflecting on the birth experience. Just as importantly, the course creates space for parents to connect, share experiences, and grow in confidence as they adjust to life with a new baby.

Carseats

Carrying Baby Carriers

Taupō Parents Centre offers car seat installation support and safety checks to help families feel confident that their child is travelling safely. We can assist with installing and adjusting car seats correctly, ensuring they are fitted securely and appropriate for your child’s age and stage. We also provide access to quality Britax car seats. Our goal is to make car seat safety simple, practical, and accessible for local families.

We provide Carseat Services at our Taupō Parents Centre rooms, Wednesdays 9.30am - 2.00pm.

Rangiatea Hapū Wānanga

He kākano i ruia mai i Rangiatea – A seed sown from Rangiatea (from the heavens). First established in 2013, Rangiatea Hapū Wānanga is a kaupapa Māori hapūtanga wānanga held in Taupō for all hapū māmā, pāpā and whānau. Grounded in mātauranga Māori and guided by tikanga, this wānanga creates a safe and nurturing space to learn about pregnancy, birth, parenting and whakapapa through a te ao Māori lens. Rangiatea reflects the understanding that we are all seeds sown from the heavens — carrying potential, strength and ancestral connection. Through kōrero, whakawhanaungatanga and shared learning, whānau are supported to grow in confidence, reconnect to culture, and prepare for the journey into parenthood. We warmly welcome all ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds, to gather in a space where kaupapa Māori based education uplifts, reconnects and strengthens through shared knowledge, cultural wisdom, and the honouring of our ancestral seeds and collective future.
