Loving Family Portrait

Taupō Parents Centre

Supporting parents and pēpi across Taupō’s early years journey.

Our Mission

Taupō Parents Centre is a not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting whānau through the early years of raising children. Our mission is to strengthen families by providing education, connection, and practical support so parents feel confident, capable, and supported in their parenting journey. Parenting is not meant to be done alone. By fostering community, sharing knowledge, and creating safe spaces for learning and connection, we help families build strong foundations for their children and themselves.

What we do here

Antenatal Classes

Preparing parents for birth, early parenting, and the transition into family life.

Baby & You Classes

Supporting parents and babies in the early weeks with guidance, connection, and practical learning.

Rangiatea Hapū Wānanga

Rangiatea Hapū Wānanga is a kaupapa Māori hapūtanga wānanga held in Taupō for all hapū māmā, pāpā and whānau. Grounded in mātauranga Māori and guided by tikanga, this wānanga creates a safe and nurturing space to learn about pregnancy, birth, parenting and whakapapa through a te ao Māori lens.

Carseats

Every Wednesday we provide a carseat service,  where our qualified carseat technician can install or safety check your carseat. We also offer seats for hire. We provide Carseat Services on Wednesdays 9.30 - 2.00pm at the Taupō Parents Centre rooms.

Ōritetanga by working toward equitable access and culturally safe spaces for all whānau.

Wairuatanga and protection by respecting the diverse values and beliefs held within our community.

Our commitment is ongoing as we continue to learn, reflect, and strengthen our practice in ways that are meaningful for Ngāti Tūwharetoa and all whānau we serve.
