- Postnatal depression
Not just for first time parents. A great opportunity to meet other new parents. Support persons welcomed. Courses run over four weeks in the evening from 7-9pm, we also offer weekend courses.
Rangiātea
Kaupapa Māori Based Childbirth Education Wānanga
This programme was created out of a need for antenatal information and support for Māori women, by Māori women. Rangiātea is designed to keep our traditions alive and well and get your parenting journey off to a great start.
You will be learning about:
- Haputanga ora
- Natural labour and birth processes
- Making ipu whenua
- Bonding with your new pepi
- Whāngai ū breastfeeding
- Healthy lifestyles including smoking cessation
- Safe sleeping, SUDI prevention
- Immunisations and other choices
- Linking with local support networks

Classes held at: Te Puawaitanga O Te Kohanga Reo, 30-32 Opepe Street, Taupō
Fully day course (9:00am – 4:00pm) – lunch provided
